The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes, who caught flack for coming out to protect black businesses during the recent protests, has done a full 180.
In a surprising move, Nene teamed up with her husband, Gregg Leakes, and other family members to march in Atlanta with many people demanding changes after the death of George Floyd in the hands of a white police officer on May 25 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The couple shared several photos where they are holding homemade signs while standing with citizens and activists supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
Nene used the caption to explain her decision to join the fight: “My hubby and I were both afraid to compromise our immune system considering his past cancer and the blood clots I had in my lungs! However, Gregg really felt he wanted to get out and try for a few and let everyone know that no matter what, we stand loud and proud! Black Lives Matter, and it has ALWAYS mattered. Thank you to everyone out here in the hot sun protesting daily! We love you and support you.”
